SPARTANBURG, S.C. (WACH / AP) – An arrest has been made in last year’s shooting death of a college student in Spartanburg.
The Spartanburg County sheriff's office says 21-year-old Sama Chaka Quinland has been arrested in St. Croix, and charged with murder and armed robbery in the dealh of 19-year-old DeAndre Fulton-Smith. Fulton-Smith attended Spartanburg Community College and was found dead in his apartment July 25. 2011. The arrest warrant says that Quinland shot Fulton-Smith and took a television and other electronic equipment from him.
Two others, twenty-one-year-old Shaphon Elisse Quinland and 22-year-old Michael Seth Choice, were arrested last August and were charged with accessory after the fact of murder.
The U.S. Marshal Service is working out arrangements to return Quinland to Spartanburg.
