LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC (WACH) - Lexington County officers seized a meth lab that was being operated at a shed near Lexington Tuesday. Two people were arrested.

Lexington County Sheriff James R. Metts said officers with the Multi-Agency Narcotics Enforcement Team (NET) arrested Edgar Rita Lake, II, 44, of Lexington and Shannon Gleaton Reynolds, 39, of Salley. The man and woman were each arrested on a charge of manufacturing methamphetamine.

Authorities say the sheriff's department received a tip Tuesday that the laboratory was being operated at a shed outside a home on Boiling Springs Road. Deputies responded to the home around 2 a.m. Tuesday and found that Lake and Reynolds were in the process of manufacturing meth.

Metts says NET officers determined the two suspects were using two sport drink bottles, one soft drink bottle and one pickle jar as reaction vessels for manufacturing drugs at the shed. One scale that had a residue on it's top surface was also found in the shed.

Lake and Reynolds were awaiting bond hearings at the Lexington County Detention Center Tuesday.
