COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- A civil rights museum in Columbia is being named for retired Chief Justice Ernest A. Finney Jr.

Officials say The Renaissance Cultural Arts Center Museum will become the Ernest A. Finney Jr. Civil Rights Museum on Thursday evening.

The museum will have historical artifacts and documents related to the contributions made by the African-American ecumenical faith community. It also will include the United Black Fund of South Carolina Hall of Fame inductees.

Finney is from Sumter and was chief justice from 1994 to 2000.
