SHAW AIR FORCE BASE, SC (WACH) - One of the largest free Fourth of July firework displays in South Carolina will be held in Sumter Wednesday night.

"Team Shaw" along with the City and County of Sumter is hosting "Jammin' July 4th" at Dillon Park from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. Wednesday.

Authorities say the U.S. Air Force Blue Acres band is scheduled to perform for the fourth year in a row. They will perform a variety of music including rock, country and blues.

The free event is open to the public and 35,000 people are expected to attend the celebration.

A 30-minute fireworks display will kick-off at 9:30 p.m. and the park will remain open until 11 p.m.

Organizers encourage people to park at the Sumter Mall and ride the free shuttle to Dillon Park to avoid delays and increased traffic.

Blankets and chairs are allowed, but coolers and pets are not allowed at the event.

A variety of food and beverages will be available for purchase from vendors at the park.
