LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC (WACH) - A meth lab was seized in Leesville Wednesday afternoon by authorities with the Lexington County Sheriff's Department. One person was arrested and one person is wanted by authorities.
Sheriff James R. Metts said officers with the county's Multi-Agency Narcotics Enforcement Team (NET) seized a clandestine methamphetamine laboratory that was reportedly operated out of the Sugar Bottom Road home of 38-year-old Amanda Axson Lee. Lee was arrested on charges of manufacturing and possessing methamphetamine.
According to Metts, NET officers are searching for Daniel Wilson Hartley, 37, who also lived at the home and is wanted on charges of manufacturing and possessing methamphetamine. Hartley is believed to be the boyfriend of Lee and was not at the residence when officers seized the laboratory.
Metts says officers searched the home around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday after the department received information of the operation of the lab at the home. The search lead to the discovery of two quart-sized mason jars that contained methamphetamine oil and one bottle of liquid fire in the home's attic. A plastic bag was found in the master bedroom that contained a white powder consistent with methamphetamine.
Lee was detained at the Lexington County Detention Center while awaiting a bond hearing Thursday.
