KERSHAW COUNTY, SC (WACH) - A man suffering from Alzheimer's disease, who was reported missing Wednesday morning, was found by a SLED helicopter crewman, according to the Kershaw County Sheriff's Office.

Authorities say Ransom Turner was spotted lying in a field by a SLED helicopter crewman as the crew was taking the helicopter to the Camden airport to refuel.

Turner had not been seen since 8:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Ground units from the Kershaw County Sheriff's Office were directed to Turner's location by the SLED crew.

Kershaw Health EMS personnel treated Turner for dehydration and fire ant bites. He is expected to recover.
