Deputies investigate lunchtime shooting

COLUMBIA (WACH) - Richland County deputies are interviewing witnesses in an early afternoon shooting.

Deputies responded to a shots fired call around noon Friday on Carter Street, according to Deputy Curtis Wilson with the Richland County Sheriff's Department.

Wilson says the victim was transported to Palmetto Health Richland.  As of 2 p.m.Monday, investigators were still at the scene investigating the shooting and interviewing witnesses.

Deputies are continuing to investigate, and are asking citizens with any information to call 1-888- Crimestoppers.
