COLUMBIA, S.C. (WACH, AP) -- People in Columbia have an opportunity to hear some music for free this Memorial Day.

The City of Columbia says the annual Palmetto Concert Band Memorial Day concert is happening Monday at 7:30 p.m. the Koger Center.

This is the 14th year of the concert that happens in honor of the men in women who have served and are serving in the United States Armed Forces.

Organizers say they're planning a variety of music, including marches, pop and patriotic tunes.

The event's 80 performers and their conductors rehearse and play for free. The event is sponsored by the City of Columbia and the University of South Carolina.

James Copenhaver, William Moody and Scott Weiss will conduct the performance.
