AIKEN, S.C. (WACH, AP) -- Investigators say a Beaufort man has been shot to death in an apartment in Aiken.
Authorities have not determined a motive or suspects in the killing of 24-year-old William Holmes Jr. around 2 a.m. Monday. The incident is being ruled a homicide.
Holmes is a former University of South Carolina Aiken student and was emplyed by Red Lobster in Aiken, according to Aiken County Coroner Tim Carlton
Aiken police say a second man, identified as 23-year-old Ollie Wineglass of Georgetown, SC, was also shot. He was transported to the hospital after the shooting, and is still being treated for a gunshot wound to the neck.
The State Law Enforcement Division is helping Aiken Public Safety investigate the shootings.
