LEXINGTON COUNTY (WACH) -- A Columbia mother and her son have died after an accident on I-20 in Lexington County Sunday morning.

The Lexington County Coroner’s Office identifies the victims as 25-year-old Tony Hill and his mother, 42-year-old Tanya Dash.

The coroner says they were traveling in a Ford Explorer near the U.S. 1 exit when the driver lost control and struck the median cable barrier. Troopers say the vehicle then overturned, ejecting the victims.

According to the coroner, two other occupants in the vehicle were taken to Palmetto Health Richland with non-life threatening injuries.

The accident remains under investigation by the Lexington County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol MAIT team.
