COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- Authorities say security guards at a Columbia nightclub shot and killed a driver who ran over another guard after striking several parked cars.
Investigators said Richland County deputies were called to Club Elements around 11:45 p.m. Friday.
Deputies say a security guard reached into the car to turn off the ignition after the driver struck several cars in the parking lot, but ended up being run over. He was taken to the hospital, and his condition has not been released.
Investigators say other guards at the club then fired shots at the vehicle, killing the driver. His name has not been released.
Deputies are still investigating the shooting.
