COLUMBIA (WACH) - There is a chance for severe weather throughout the Southeast Thursday afternoon.
Anytime after 3 p.m. the Midlands could begin to see scattered thunderstorms due to an approaching cold front.
The storms will not only affect the Midlands. States throughout the Southeast including a good portion of South Carolina and Georgia could be affected. The threat extends to Augusta, Ga. where the Masters is underway.
The threat will increase into Thursday night.
There is possibility of seeing heavy rainfall that will could cause flooding.
The storm has the potential to produce gusty winds over 60 mph and hail.
An isolated tornado cannot be ruled out, but that is not a primary threat for us with this system.
