ELGIN, S.C. (WACH) - An Elgin woman was arrested Monday afternoon on multiple drug charges.
The Kershaw County Sheriff's Office and the SC State Law Enforcement Division (SLED) arrested 34-year-old Kendra Lashaun Tucker after executing a search warrant at her home Monday.
Tucker had cocain, crack cocaine, controlled prescription drugs and marijuana in her possession and faces multiple drug charges.
According to the sheriff's office, Tucker has an extensive criminal record dating back to 1995. She has previously been arrested numerous times on narcotics charges, assault and battery, petty larceny, breach of peace, criminal domestic violence, assault on an officer while resisting arrest, malicious injury to real property, DUS, receiving stolen goods, possession of drug paraphernalia and shoplifting.
“Since several of these arrests are third offense, we are hoping that, if convicted, Ms. Tucker will finally be taken off the streets,” said Sheriff Jim Matthews. “She needs to be behind bars where she can no longer sell drugs in our community.”
Deputies and Agents went to Tucker's home to arrest her son, Marquise Tucker, who is wanted on a number of charges including burglary and pointing and presenting a firearm.
Officers were unable to locate Marquise Tucker.
Kendra Tucker is currently being detained in the Kershaw County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
