COLUMBIA (WACH) – South Carolina’s First Family hosted the 2012 Easter Egg Hunt at the governor’s mansion Monday afternoon.

Hundreds of kids attended the event. Children ages three-years-old to 10-years were old who have been admitted to Palmetto Health Childrens Hospital were invited. The egg hunt was sponsored by Palmetto Health Foundation, Volunteers in Action and the Palmetto Health Childrens Hospital.

Family members who came out in support were very impressed with the effort.
“I think this is awesome, it's such a beautiful environment and the kids are excited beyond comprehension and to see the hospital and the others have put so much into this, I can't thank them enough” said Dave McLendon.

The annual Easter Egg Hunt at the governor's mansion has been making kids happy since 1986.
