COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- Authorities say a car has collided with a school bus in Columbia, killing a passenger in the vehicle and injuring several people on the bus.

Police said the wreck happened around 5 p.m. Monday in southeast Columbia. Officers are still trying to determine how the collision happened.

Five Richland School District 1 students were on the bus along with the driver and an aide. District spokeswoman Karen York says they were taken to the hospital after they complained about neck and head pain.

The condition of the driver of the car is not known. The names of the dead passenger or the others involved in the wreck have not been released.
