COLUMBIA (WACH)--This Spring aspiring designers can show off their cutting-edge fashion designs as part of the University of South Carolina's Fashion Week.

The competition is open to all South Carolina college students with a passion for fashion.

The deadline to apply to be in the Showcase is Feb. 14. Selections will be announced Feb. 29 at the Fashion Board's Carolina Cup preview event, Bows and Beaus.

USC's Fashion Week is set for April 9th-12th.

The designers will be provided models, makeup and hair stylists to show their designs to an audience of fashion buyers, shop owners, potential customers and the media.

Students can apply for the Designer Showcase Competition by visiting the board's website.

The Fashion Board at USC is a student-run organization sponsored by USCs College of Hospitality, Retail and Sport Management and focuses on the fashion and retail industries.

Fashion Week is the Fashion Boards largest annual event, featuring fashion shows and a symposium.
