Roads closed after car hits building, catches on fire

COLUMBIA (WACH) -- Expect delays near Williams-Brice Stadium as a car crash has nearby roads closed Wednesday morning.

The Columbia-Richland Fire Department is on the scene after a vehicle ran into a building near the intersection of George Rogers Blvd. and Shop Road.

After hitting the building, the car caught on fire.  Columbia-Richland Fire Chief Aubrey Jenkins says four people were in the vehicle at the time of the crash.

Coroner Gary Watts is on the scene, but authorities can't say at this time if there are any fatalities.

George Rogrs Blvd. is closed from Bluff Rd. to Assembly St.  If traveling this morning, avoid the intersections of George Rogers Blvd. and Shop Rd., George Rogers Blvd. and Bluff Rd., and George Rogers Blvd. and Rosewood Drive.
