Columbia, SC (WACH) --- Mild temps are expected for your Tuesday as highs climb to around 70 in the Midlands.  However, this spring-like pattern will be short lived as an approaching cold front will bring rain chances late today into tonight, and cooler temperatures by Wednesday afternoon.

A system that has brough everything from severe weather to winter weather across the country will bring the cooler air and rain to the Midlands.  The good news is both severe weather and winter weather are not a threat for the area when the cold front moves through tonight.

On Wednesday, despite late afternoon sunshine, temperatures will be colder in the afternoon than in the morning as the northerly winds move in bringing cold air.  This will cause our temps to fall during the day from the 50s into the 40s.
