Horry County, SC (WACH)- South Carolina Representative Thad Viers was arrested by Myrtle Beach Police after the department said he continued to call, text and email an ex- girlfriend for more than five months after the couple broke up.
Viers is a State Representative representing Horry County. He was one of the first candidates to declare for the newly created Congressional District.
Viers said in a statement, "As of today, I am withdrawing from the race for South Carolina’s new 7th Congressional District due to personal reasons, and I will not be a candidate for any office in 2012. While I had hoped to join South Carolina’s conservative congressional delegation in fighting back against Washington’s out-of-control spending spree, now is not the time. Instead, I will focus on building my law practice and advocating free market principles here in Horry County."
Viers represents House District 68, serving Horry County.
