COLUMBIA (WACH) --  As a precaution, six Richland One schools will be operating on a two-hour delayed start schedule this morning while law enforcement authorities continue their search for an armed robbery suspect in the Monticello Road area in the Eau Claire cluster.

The schools are: Eau Claire High, Arden Elementary, Heyward Gibbes Middle, Hyatt Park Elementary, E.E. Taylor Elementary and Alcorn  Middle School.

After consultation with law enforcement officials, it was determined that the rest of the school day could proceed as planned. While the robbery suspect remains at large, there is still a law enforcement presence in the area. Under the two-hour delayed start, classes at elementary schools begin at 9:30 a.m.; middle schools at 10:45 a.m.; and high schools at 10 a.m.

Buses will pick up students two hours later than the normal pick-up times and classes will start two hours later than their normal start times.

Also, the shuttle bus that picks up students at Eau Claire High and transports them to Olympia Learning Center will be on the two-hour delay as well.
