Columbia (WACH) – Richland School District 2 representatives along with members of the district’s attendance line design team took questions from the public Tuesday evening about upcoming changes to high school attendance lines. The meeting will took place at Longleaf Middle School located 1160 Longreen Parkway.

The district is opening Westwood High School (High School 5) in the 2012-2013 school year. It’s a new school being paid for by a bond referendum voters passed in 2008. Several new schools are being built and others renovated to ease overcrowding in the district. Westwood High School will be located at 180 Turkey Farm Road in Blythewood.

Maps of the proposed new attendance lines are being placed in the district’s middle and high schools.  Comments from Tuesday’s meeting will be shared with school board members prior to their meeting on Tuesday, October 11. Board members will vote on the proposed changes at their meeting on October 25. To view the maps online, click here.
