COLUMBIA, S.C. (WACH, AP) -- Prosecutors say they will not charge the father of a 9-month-old boy who died after he was left in a hot car in Columbia for several hours on Father's Day.

Authorities say they received a call leading them to the Charbonneau Apartments off of Greystone Boulevard. That is where police say the boy's relatives found Jayden Davis in the car. Davis was taken by ambulance to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The National Weather Service said the high temperature that day was 98 degrees.

Prosecutors say there was not enough evidence to charge the father or anyone else with the boy's death.

The man's name was not released.
