Gas prices climb again in the Midlands

COLUMBIA (WACH) -- The pain at the pump is again increasing this week in the Midlands.

Gas prices jumped nearly 6 cents per gallon over last week's report, putting the current average at $3.46 for unleaded according to ColumbiaGasPrices.com.

That's up $1.07 per gallon higher than last year at this time, and 10.5 cents higher than last month when gas prices were seeing a surprising decline in the Midlands.

The current national average sits at $3.67 per gallon, which is up just 3 cents over the previous week.

South Carolina currently ranks third in the nation for having the lowest gas prices, behind Arizona and Utah.  Spartanburg and Myrtle Beach are the only cities in South Carolina sitting in the top ten cities with the cheapest gas in the country.
