CHARLESTON (WCIV) -- A jail nurse has been arrested after reportedly being caught performing oral sex on an inmate at the Al Cannon Detention Center.
Angela Marie Smith has been charged with sexual misconduct with an inmate. Investigators believe she willingly engaged in sexual intercourse with 33-year-old inmate Myron Mitchell.
According to an incident report, Smith pulled Mitchell to the side for a private conversation. A detention center worker told investigators that after she noticed Smith had been missing for an extended period of time, she decided to check on her.
The worker said when she went into the room she saw the nurse's head "going up and down" between his legs. The detention center worker said she was then told by Mitchell not to say anything as he adjusted his pants.
Instead, investigators say the worker immediately went to the desk and called her supervisor.
