COLUMBIA (WACH) -- A very popular former Columbia International University student stopped by campus for a visit to her alma mater Tuesday.

Sue Thomas' life story is the inspiration for the TV show "Sue Thomas: F.B. Eye" on the Gospel Music Channel.  She's deaf and a former lip reader for the FBI.

Thomas may be known for the show, but she told students about her lesson learned during her time at CIU made her the woman she is today.

"It's because of this school that I have the peace, that I have the joy and what I want the world to have is the same thing as well.

Thomas will also share her story with students at Ben Lippen School Wednesday.
