COLUMBIA (WACH) -- A group of University of South Carolina students unhappy with Gov. Nikki Haley's decision to remove longtime USC contributor Darla Moore from the University's board of trustees are planning a protest.

The students are organizing the rally on the Facebook page Students for the Reinstatement of Miss Darla Moore.

Darla Moore, the billionaire president of an investment firm and the woman who the USC business school is named after, has been replaced by Lexington attorney and Gov. Nikki Haley campaign contributor Tommy Cofield.

The rally will be held on the north side of the State House next Wednesday at noon.

Moore was appointed to the board by the governor in 1999.

Cofield officially took over the position on March 10.
