COLUMBIA (WACH) -- After three days of asking, WACH Fox News is finally getting a response from the PR firm the city of Columbia is hiring to consult on a North Main Street construction project.

Pat Noble, with the Columbia firm P.J. Noble and Associates, told us she'd be happy to talk to us as long as the city gives her permission.

At issue is a simple question; why does it make sense to spend $65,000 on a consultant when the city already has its own internal PR department?

WACH Fox News tried to ask City Manager Steve Gantt Wednesday whether Noble will get that permission to talk, but he wouldn't see us.

His assistant told us it's because we didn't have an appointment.
