Vice President Biden will be the keynote speaker at the dedication of the Ernest F. Hollings Special Collections Library at the University of South Carolina on Friday.

In a release University President Harris Pastides said he looks forward to having vice president on campus.

“We are honored that Vice President Biden has chosen to join us for this very special occasion in the life of our university,” Pastides said. “Vice President Biden and Senator Hollings have a long and enduring friendship. His presence and his remarks will be a fitting tribute to Senator Hollings and symbolic for the special collections library as it celebrates the new home for its South Carolina Political Collections.”

Hollings and Biden served together in the Senate for 32 years until Hollings’ retirement in 2005. During that time, their desks were next to each other on the Senate floor.
