LEXINGTON -- The Executive Committee of the Lexington County Republican Party meets Thursday to discuss the recent comments made by State Senator Jake Knotts.

Knotts made national news last week by using the slur "ragheads" in reference to gubernatorial candidate Nikki Haley and President Obama.

Knotts later released a statement saying his comments were in jest.

Wednesday night's meeting is open to the public but only elected members of the executive committee will be allowed to speak.

It takes place at 7 p.m. on the second floor of the administration building in Lexington.
