COLUMBIA (WACH) -- Republican gubernatorial candidate Nikki Haley holds a double digit lead in the latest poll. The InsiderAdvantage/Statehouse Report poll was taken May 25, after a Columbia blogger alleged he had an "improper physical relationship" with Haley.
Haley's campaign issued a statement Monday denying the allegations.
"I have been 100% faithful to my husband throughout our 13 years of marriage," Haley said. "This claim against me is categorically and totally false."
Meanwhile, blogger Will Folks has yet to provide evidence showing proof of the relationship.
Haley leads the field with 31.3 percent of likely Republican primary voters. Lt. Governor Andre Bauer came in second in the poll with 20.7 percent. U.S. Representative Gresham Barrett and Attorney General Henry McMaster had 14.1 percent and 13.8 percent respectively.
Haley had a similar lead in two other polls released after former First Lady Jenny Sanford and former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin endorsed her campaign, but before the allegations were reported.
The poll had a margin of error of 3.8 percent.
