COLUMBIA -- The rains during Monday's storm caused severe flash flooding, washing out some businesses and cars in Columbia.
One driver got quite a surprise on Pickens Street on the USC Campus.
He drove into, what he thought, was a few inches of water. But as he soon found out, that wasn't the case.
A viewer also sent us pictures of cars with water up to the bumpers.
But what does that mean for the drivers?
According to one local water damage expert, they're no out of luck.
"The water contains many pathogenic things; fertilizer, motor oil, animal feces, you name it and it's in the water," explains Walker Williams of PuroClean Disaster Restoration. "If it gets inside your car, you can't fix that."
Williams adds if the water gets into engines, you pretty much need to call your insurance company.
