COLUMBIA -- Columbia's Mayor-Elect Steve Benjamin spoke with police Monday about the wreck that sent hotel worker Deborah Rubens to the hospital in critical condition.

A spokesman confirmed Benjamin spoke with investigators, but wouldn't comment on the specifics citing the ongoing police investigation.

Rubens remains in the hospital with a brain injury, broken collarbone and broken pelvis.
