RICHLAND COUNTY -- A former construction worker is behind bars after a work scuffle with his supervisor.

Richland County deputies say Uriel Ruiz was fired from his job at a site on Langford Road Thursday morning.

He then approached his boss with a knife and the two got in a fight.

Ruiz's former boss was defending himself with a construction tool.

Ruiz then dropped his knife, took the tool from his former boss and hit him with it.

The victim was taken to the hospital.

Ruiz is changed with assault.
