The big top cupcake is a $20 silicone bakeware set that claims to make a giant cupcake 25 times larger than average. But will it turn out just to be a big mess? The Wach Fox Report wanted to find out the answer so we put it to the deal or dud test.
We whip up our wonderful boxed batter, coat the bakeware with non-stick cooking spray and then pour the batter to the line in the bottom pan. The rest goes into the top of the cupcake mold. Then the chef pops on the insert. It should create a nice space for a tasty filling we'll add later.
In the oven and now we wait to enjoy what we hope will be a beautiful, delicious, giant cupcake! The toothpick test tells us our baked goods are ready to go! The cakes come out of the bakeware easily, no sticking at all. The instructions tell us to slice off the tops for better stacking. The chef expertly applies buttercream icing to the top, which makes one giant cupcake!
Our finished product slices well. It's not messy and boy is it good! The chef says it's a deal!
You can buy the big top cupcake at Walgreen's and Bed Bath and Beyond. You can also order it on the big top cupcake website.
