(AP) -- COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- South Carolina's Supreme Court has upheld the murder conviction for a 66-year-old attorney found guilty of shooting a strip club owner.
The justices on Monday also affirmed Dewain Herring's 30-year prison sentence.
Herring was found guilty of murder in 2007. Prosecutors said he was so angry after getting kicked out of Chastity's Gold Club in January 2006, he pulled a gun from his car and fired a shot at the club's door.
The shot hit owner John Johnson Jr. in the head, killing him.
Authorities said Herring threatened to kill someone after he was escorted from the club for taking his clothes off in a private room. Herring's attorney argued the lawyer was slipped a date-rape drug and wasn't in control of his actions.
Herring has been disbarred.
