An afternoon fire broke out at the Park Apartments off Longcreek Drive early Sunday afternoon.  Shortly before 3:00 pm, a storage room caught fire.  Fire officials worked quickly to keep the blaze from spreading to nearby units.

Neighbors say a quiet afternoon, quickly turned chaotic.

"I heard all the noise but I thought it was maybe the other apartments down there," said nearby resident Bridgette Bell.  "Then I saw one (fire truck) come out in the parking lot; so I came out on my porch.  But then I saw two more fire trucks, and I was like 'Ok.' Then I saw the smoke."

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.  However investigators think the blaze may have been started from an electrical shortage.  Damages are estimated at $5,000.
