WEST COLUMBIA -- A suspect in an October home invasion in West Columbia has turned himself into police, according to the West Columbia Police Department.

According to Chief Dennis Tyndall, Dennis James McCloud, age 18, turned himself into police on Monday on charges stemming from an October 22 incident. Tyndall stated that officers believe McCloud and McKenzie Clarence Boykin, age 31, forced  their way into a residence at 1418 D Avenue.  Once inside, the suspects pistol whipped the victim and attempted to rob him. The suspects fled the scene when the victim’s roommate heard the disturbance and interrupted the robbery.

Officers had previously arrested Boykin October 26. Both men are charged with armed robbery and kidnapping, among other charges.
