MURRELLS INLET, S.C. (AP) -- Everything from pottery to paintings are on sale at the 34th annual Atalaya Arts Festival which draws artists from 12 states to South Carolina coast.
The festival begins Friday at Huntington Beach State Park in Murrells Inlet. It features 103 artists and artisans selected by a jury to display and sell their work.
Also on hand are the creators of "Beautiful Places: The Timeless Beauty of South Carolina's State Parks." The volume has photos by Greenwood photographer Jon O. Holloway and text by Chad Prosser, director of the state Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism.
Proceeds help pay for improvements at South Carolina's state parks.
