An Orangeburg County community is looking for answers.

The small town of Holly Hill has seen their fair share of thefts, and now some residents are calling for action.

Community members say they are tired of being ignored, and they want everyone to be aware of what is going on in their neighborhood.

William Escritt is just one of the many residents of this small community.  "A lot of these people pray on the elderly for the simple fact that they know they can't fight back" - until now.

Escritt has seen robbers take everything from ceiling fans - to countertops - and even the front door.

After each burglary, Escritt has seen the Sheriff's Department come out to file a report, but he does not feel they are taking the thefts seriously.  "You shouldn't have to wait to be a victim before the law takes charge and does something about it."

The residents in the area would like to talk to the Sheriff's Department about the possibility of placing a substation in the area, but for now, they are being extra careful by installing sensor lights and alarm systems.  They are also locking up their valuables.

If you have any information on these robberies, give CrimeStoppers a call at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
