COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- Some South Carolina voters lined up before dawn to cast ballots.

Officials reported no major problems after polls opened on time in all 46 counties. Polls close at 7 p.m.

Forty-one-year-old George Palmer of Charleston says he voted for Democrat Barack Obama over Republican John McCain because he wants change.

Sixty-one-year-old Bryan Allen of Columbia says he respects what Obama has done. But Allen says he's voting Republican on the national, state and local level.

Republican U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham is seeking re-election for the first time. Graham planned to spend the day in Arizona with McCain.

All six congressional posts, every seat in the state Legislature and three proposed amendments to the state constitution are also being decided.
