Richland County investigators interviewed a witness Thursday night who they say may have had key information about events that led to a murder.
Twenty-three-year-old Natasha Warren was found shot to death in her car near an Interstate 26 exit ramp in August. Investigators say she got a flat tire on her way to work, pulled over and walked to the Sunoco convenience store on Bush River Road. Warren was seen going into the Sunoco four times.
Investigators say the witness was seen entering the Sunoco two minutes after the last time Warren was there. Authorities say he came in from the same area of the parking lot as Warren, and that he appears to be the only person in that area of the parking lot. Investigators think he may have seen Warren speaking to or interacting with someone.
Sergeant Kim Myers with the Richland County Sheriff's Department said the witness came in around 8 p.m. Thursday after family members saw him on the news.
Deputies interviewed him and thank him for coming in. They are now following up on additional leads.
