Greene stunned state party leaders last week when he defeated a former state lawmaker in the primary to face Republican Sen. Jim DeMint.

Republican Rep. Chip Limehouse says in a letter sent Tuesday to the State Law Enforcement Division he has questions about how Alvin Greene came up with the more than $10,000 needed to file as a U.S. Senate candidate.
