In this ecomony many homeowners are facing foreclosure.

But there is a glimmer of hope for people in a tough situation.

One midlands group is extending their helping hand...for free.

"I don't know what else to do, I don't want them to take my home," says Mason.

Peggy Mason says this foreclosure workshop in Richland County, is her last hope to keep her home.

Like many in the midlands, Mason has fallen on tough times and is having some trouble paying her mortgage.

Mason says lenders have stopped working with her.

"He told us to sell our house or we're going to have to move," says Mason.

A thought that Mason says, would devastate her.

"I'd lose it, I would absolutely lose it," says Mason.

"We work with homeowners, to help them modify their loans, reduce their interest rates on their payments," says Mary Broadwater.

Broadwater runs the "Save My Home," workshop.

She says foreclosure is a serious issue in the state of South Carolina.

"We're struggling, and there's been a reduction in income, there could be a number of issues that have cause either homeowners to fall behind, or to anticipate that they will fall behind in the near future," says Broadwater.

Broadwater says these homeowners, are taking the right steps to stay away from foreclosure.

"Any homeowner can do this for themselves, but the question is, do they have the time?" says Broadwater.

And in time, Broadwater says this workshop will help homeowners like Mason from seeing a foreclosure sign in their front yard.

"Our last hope, yes," says Mason.

If you would like to attend a "Save My Home" workshop please go to www.savemyhomeworkshops.org.

There you will find dates and times for their workshops, including more information on how you can save your home.
