GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) -- The chairman of Michelin's U.S. operations is slated to speak in Greenville as part of a lecture series sponsored by Clemson University.

Michelin North America Chairman Pete Selleck is to give a talk on Friday at Clemson at the Falls as part of a First Friday Speaker Series.

Selleck has a master's in business administration degree from Clemson and has headed up Michelin's U.S. operations since October 2011.

More than a third of Michelin's 22,000 North American employees work in South Carolina. The tire maker built its first American plant in South Carolina in 1973 and announced plans in April for its ninth facility in the state.
