COLUMBIA  (WACH/AP) -- Graduating students at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine are poised to learn where they will get their advanced years of medical training.

Medical students from across the country are scheduled to participate in Friday's nationwide Match Day, where they have been accepted for their residencies, marking the final stage of their medical training.

Students have put in bids to attend several sites, and during the noon ceremony they learn where they have been accepted, or matched, when their envelopes are opened.

The ceremony takes place at the Zone at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia.
