Thursday, September 08, 2011  South Carolina's freshman U.S. Rep. Tim Scott plans to host Georgia businessman Herman Cain on Sept. 17 at Daniel Island. It's the fourth candidate Scott has hosted in his series of presidential town hall meetings. Texas Gov. Rick Perry appeared most recently at a session last Monday in Conway.

Monday, September 05, 2011  Texas Gov. Rick Perry is skipping out on a South Carolina GOP presidential primary this Labor Day to go back to his home state to deal with major wildfires burning there.  U.S. Sen. Jim DeMint is hosting the Palmetto Freedom Forum Monday.  DeMint's office tells CNN Perry, who was scheduled to appear, will not be participating.

Wednesday, July 20, 2011  South Carolina U.S. Rep. Tim Scott has introduced legislation in Congress to prevent the National Labor Relations Board from closing down plants or ordering companies to transfer employment.  Scott's measure comes in light of the NLRB suit against Boeing, which last month opened its $750 million assembly plant in North Charleston.
