Tuesday, February 26, 2013  Trayvon Martin, one year ago today, became a young man that a number of people embraced. His shooting death by accused gunman George Zimmerman brought to light several states' “Stand Your Ground” laws including South Carolina. Since Martin's death, a South Carolina Representative is now leading a charge to change the way “Stand Your Ground” is used.

Tuesday, April 24, 2012  A state Senate panel has approved a bill that would ban drivers from calling, texting or reading electronic messages in South Carolina's work or school zones.

Wednesday, February 09, 2011  The governor was given a guided tour of the West Columbia facility. The Director of the facility briefed the governor on the state's Incident Monitoring System and she was also shown the layout of the Governor's Situation Room.
