Friday, December 21, 2012  According to Kershaw County Sheriff Jim Matthews, Earnest Maurice Allen was found in a shed behind a home in Lee County in the Red Hill community. He had about $800 in cash with him. Allen was apprehended about 3:15 Friday afternoon.

Thursday, December 20, 2012  Kershaw County investigators are looking for a suspect who opened fire on deputies Thursday evening.

Wednesday, May 18, 2011  Officials with the Kershaw County Sheriff's Department have arrested five suspects in connection with a crime spree over the past several days.  Sheriff Jim Matthews says 23-year-old Frank Singleton III, 20-year-old Curtis Drakeford, 34-year-old Jerome Lewis of Camden, Arthur Macklin III and 26-year-old Randy Lewis were arrested Tuesday after a quick investigation.

Monday, May 16, 2011  Officials in Kershaw County are reporting a series of home invasions that happened over a span of three days.  The sheriff's department says two suspects, who were armed, broke into three homes Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights and took cash from the victims.
