Record high temperatures have strawberries in full bloom 3 weeks earlier than expected. Strawberry season generally begins in mid April, however, this year the berries were ready in late March.

That's why the department of public safety holds a memorial service each year to remember those who have died. This year's service takes place at North Trenholm Baptist Church Saturday April 25.
