The city's ongoing budget and labor cuts are causing more controversy. The budget has been under the microscope for months. Officials are doing things to offset shortfalls. On April 1, the fire department cut two trucks and reduced staff at two station, saving $1.2 million. On May 27, the city saves another $800,000 by eliminating dumpster-like container trash pickup. June 10, council slashes $1.6 million from the budget. Then, Monday the city laid off two employees. Judy Stringer was one of those workers.

Carolyn Yvonne Murphy Taylor is one of many people who have had their uninsured cars tagged or towed because it's considered abandoned or derelict even when it's in their own drive way.
